BiographySouthern California..Been here for a year and a half. Good God, between the weather and the scenery, how can I ever go back to New York? And here's when the lightning bolt hit me: This past January, I woke up at home in Marina del Rey to blue skies and 76 degrees. Took a plane to Mammoth Lakes where that same night, it was 3 degrees above in the beautiful Sierras. Decision: I’m a Californian, period. KLOS started rocking 40 years ago, in 1969. This is no flash in the pan, band-wagon jumping radio station! One mission over 4 decades: to rock! You can count the number of stations in America who share that with KLOS on one hand. Your support of rock on the radio has brought us to the top of the Arbitron Ratings...THANK YOU! In the second quarter of 2010, we’re top 3 among Adults. I’m the station’s Program Director, so please consider me your Listener Advocate. Radio, the teenage years: 1974, soldering iron in hand, built a 100 watt pirate station in Dix Hills, New York to I could be right next to my hero, Don Imus, on the dial. An FCC visit to my parent’s house ended the fun 3 months later. Radio, my 20’s and 30’s: WBAB/Long Island VP/Programming and Morning DJ. Stayed 20 years almost to the day. Favorite moment: The WBAB No-Skin, No-Win Tanning Contest. And beating all those pesky New York City stations in the ratings. Radio, my 40’s: A decade as Program Director and DJ of WAXQ, New York. Favorite moment: When “the KLOS of the east coast”, WNEW-FM, declared that rock was dead and that they were changing formats. We jumped in and went, over time, to #1 Adults in New York.
